1. The Sirius University of Science and Technology is hosting the main program of the III Annual Summit of Young Scientists and Engineers “Big Challenges for Society, State and Science”. More than 500 undergraduate and graduate students from 42 regions of Russia discuss issues of genetics, information technology and cognitive research with leading scientists and experts. This year the summit is being held as part of the official plan for the Year of Science and Technology in Russia.

2. The Skolkovo Foundation(VEB.RF Group) announces a preliminary competitive selection of pilot projects for the implementation of Russian solutions in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence technologies.

3. Until 2024, it is planned to hold more than 100 hackathons(contests) on artificial intelligence among developers. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The first competition of this series will take place this summer in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the VI Annual Federal Forum on the Digital Economy CIPR-2021.

4. A Russian group of researchers, which included scientists from the Siberian Federal University(Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk), has developed a liquid crystal material that can increase the energy efficiency of smartphones and tablets by controlling the position of molecules in crystals. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday by the press service of the university.

5. NTI Competence Center - The Center for Quantum Technologies of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University has developed and launched a cloud-based software platform for developers of quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms. The platform will be of interest primarily to students, scientists and employees of research departments of companies engaged in quantum computing, quantum informatics, and quantum programming.
