The total number of graduate students in Russia decreased by 30% from 2010 to 2022, and the number of PhD theses defended by more than 22 thousand, and the trend in recent years has been a decrease of 9% per year, said Viktor Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
