- In Russia, the methodology for forming the rating of scientific and technological development will be changed
Starting from 2024, the rating of scientific and technological development of Russian regions will be formed according to a new methodology, including 43 indicators. The new rating methodology includes indicators that take into account the strategy of state programs, the national project “Science and Universities”, indicators approved for the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation.

- Most grants from the Russian Science Foundation (RNF) go to support young scientists
According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, last year the foundation supported 708 organizations and about 53 thousand scientists, of which the majority, 38 thousand, are young researchers and specialists

- A new super-demanded IT profession has appeared in Russia
The number of open vacancies for specialists in the field of artificial intelligence (machine learning, ML) is growing rapidly in Russia – in 2023 there are 80% more of them than a year earlier. The only downside is that employers offer candidates significantly less money than they expect, but in general, salaries in the AI sector, unlike other IT industries, are growing very quickly.

- The budget for digitalization of federal and regional authorities in Russia has been reduced by about 20% per year over the past four years
This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadaev. The state has traditionally been one of the main customers in the IT market. At the end of 2021, it was assumed that in the next four years IT spending in the public sector would double, however, in the next three years they would decrease at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance

- A nuclear cluster will appear in Russia
The concept of “Obninsk Tech” was presented at Sirius at the III Congress of Young Scientists. The cluster will appear in Obninsk with the participation of the main university of Rosatom – MEPhI. This international scientific and educational center for nuclear and related technologies will become a hub for the development of modern educational technologies, an exposition of export-oriented products of Russian high-tech companies, a platform for holding congresses, exhibitions, and international schools
