1. The long-term isolation experiment SIRIUS (Scientific International Research In Unique Terrestrial Station, a scientific study in a unique ground complex) will begin on March 1, 2019. The SIRIUS program is implemented in preparation for flights to the outer space, primarily to work at the near-Earth orbital station Deep Space Gateway.



2. The tenth anniversary voyage of the expedition "Arctic University" has completed research on Novaya Zemlya and on Thursday, 2nd of August, has returned to Arkhangelsk. Within 24 days polar explorers collected samples of flora and fauna, which will become the basis for new Arctic research.



3. Russian scientists in the framework of the “Boomerang” project are planning to send a capsule with microorganisms to the satellite of Mars - Phobos, and then return it to Earth to evaluate possible mutations during a space flight. In October 2016 Roscosmos State Corporation, within the framework of the "Boomerang" project, ordered the development of a new interplanetary station to deliver to Earth 600 grams of soil from Phobos. In total, the Federal Space Program for 2016-2025 provides more than 10 billion rubles for the study of Phobos, but only in the case of participation in the European Space Agency project.



4. Physicists from Russia and the USA have found traces of a "new type" of neutrinos in Antarctica. Unique "balloons" flying over Antarctica, helped Russian and foreign scientists to find potential traces of so-called "sterile" neutrinos. Their conclusions were presented in an article accepted for publication in the journal Physical Review Letters.
