1. On February 7, the meeting of the Russian-Argentine Working Group on Education, Science and Technology was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia within the framework of the Intergovernmental Russian-Argentine Commission for Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation. 

As a result of the event, the heads of delegations signed the memorandum of the meeting, which reflected the current and prospective areas of cooperation in matters of bilateral scientific and educational cooperation.



2. On the eve of the Day of Russian Science, the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the scientific supervisor of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences subordinated to the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Yuri Balega told the Arkhyz24 television channel about the work of the Large Azimuth Telescope, as well as the latest trends in astrophysics.



3. On February 6-9, the Rosatom Science Festival dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy has been held in New Delhi. Within a few days, a series of scientific and educational activities in the field of nuclear science and technology, organized with the support of the ASE Group (part of Rosatom State Corporation) and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in New Delhi, were held in the schools of Delhi.



4. On February 9, RSC Energia and the administration of Tomsk Oblast have signed cooperation agreements for the development of the “Space Lesson” project, as well as on cooperation in science and technology. The document on scientific and technical cooperation signed by RSC Energia CEO Vladimir Solntsev and Tomsk Region Governor Sergei Zhvachkin supposes strengthening of the corporation's ties with the Tomsk Scientific and Educational Complex.



5. The 2017 year  became a landmark for the RVC: the RVC Development Strategy for 2017-2030 has been approved, which defines the mission, strategic goal and tools that support the key activities of the company: development and implementation of financial and non-financial instruments for the development of the venture investment and technological entrepreneurship market, creation in Russia its own venture investment industry and execution of the functions of the Project Office of the National Technological Initiative. 



6. Two joint centers for space monitoring of the Ministry of Emergencies and Roscosmos are planned to be established in 2018 on the Arctic coast of Russia, their commissioning should increase the speed of taking images from space by almost 20%. This is stated in the published report of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The Northern Sea Route is the main element of the Arctic transportation system that provides freight traffic along the entire coastline of Russia in the Arctic Ocean, which in the long term may become the most important international transport route.
