2. Scientists of the Polytechnic Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University(FEFU), together with colleagues from Russia, India and Saudi Arabia used an aqueous concentrate containing the bacteria Bacillus cohnii, which survived in the pores of the hardened cement stone in the manufacture of a conventional concrete mixture. The hardened concrete was tested for compression with a press, and then the bacteria were observed to eliminate the cracks that appeared, restoring the strength of the concrete.

3. Scientists from the National Research Technological University MISiS with foreign colleagues presented a new cost-effective electrochemical cell based on carbon fabric. 4. Scientists from the Research Institute of Space and Aviation Materials in Pereslavl-Zalessky have created a new generation composite material that can withstand colossal loads. A strip of material five millimeters wide with a dead weight of two grams is capable of holding a load weighing more than 500 kilograms. The invention has Russian and international patents and has been tested.

5. Researchers from the Russian Chemical Technical University have developed a new material for prostheses - a polymer biocomposite, which contains the powerful antibiotic amikacin. In this case, the antibiotic comes out of the material only during a bacterial attack, and the intensity of its release can be controlled by changing the thickness of the composite.
