1. A meeting of the Presidium of the Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation on Digital Development and Information Technologies was held, chaired by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Narukavnikov. The main topic of the meeting was to consider the methodology for establishing the amount of subsidies for the implementation of measures aimed at digitalizing universities.

At the Forum on Digital Transformation, which was organized within the framework of the Russian Business Weeks by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, participants discuss the impact of 5G communications on the landscape of innovative digital services, the potential effect of 5G implementation in the Russian economy. Arkady Dvorkovich, the chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation expects that new wireless technologies would be one of the most promising areas.



3. Scientists from the A.N.Bakulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, together with colleagues from the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have developed a new mathematical model of how the autonomic nervous system controls the cardiovascular system. It takes into account the sympathetic and parasympathetic self-excitatory circuits of the nervous system that control the heart rate and tone of the peripheral vessels that deliver blood to parts of the body. This will enable scientists to better understand how the cardiovascular system works, help physicians analyze the patient's condition and develop personalized medicine.



4. Ivan Smirnov of the Higher School of Economics has created an artificial intelligence system that determines student performance based on his posts on social networks. The accuracy of the result is 94%. To train the neural network, posts from open pages of the VKontakte social network were used. Were selected messages from 2468 subjects who took the 2012 PISA test. This test determines the literacy of the participant and his ability to apply his knowledge in practice. More than 130 thousand texts were included in the training sample.



5. Engineers have developed a system of highly reliable digital fiber-optic modules that transmit an optical signal at a wavelength of 1.55 microns at a speed of up to 1 Mbps. and the Shvabe holding of Rostec State Corporation has started serial production of a fiber-optic transmission and conversion system for optical signals to control the subsea complex of offshore oil and gas production.
