3. A research group from the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Institute of Geology of Ore Deposits, Petrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences has set itself the task of identifying such natural sorbents that do not require complex preparation, will be cheap to use and safe for the environment. Peat and brown coal have shown the strongest bonds with uranium, due to the large number of oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of the sorbents.

4. A team of scientists from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology studied the Thermus thermophiles bacterium and learned how its defense system CRISPR-Cas works. It collects genetic material from a small region of the bacteriophage genome, thanks to which it can neutralize the danger at an early stage. This opens up prospects for genetic manipulation with both bacteria and phage viruses.

5. Scientists at Tula State University have developed a powder technology for the production of an alloy for implants, which is similar in density, elasticity and other characteristics to human bone. The metals included in its composition are not oxidized and are not toxic. The technology can be used not only in medicine, but also in aircraft construction as components have a shape memory effect in the temperature range of 200-300 degrees.
