1. Researchers from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have found that excited atoms in a waveguide spontaneously decay, mainly due to polarization selection. The discovery will be useful in the context of the development of quantum technologies.

2. Scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University have proposed new wearable bioelectrodes for reading electrical signals while monitoring the heart.
