According to scientists, increasing the heat resistance of the alloy will allow it to be used not only for power lines, but also in various aircraft, where it is critical to minimize the mass of all parts.

Researchers at the Institute of Advanced Materials Physics of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University have developed scientific and technical approaches and a way to increase the strength of VT8M-1 titanium alloy. The advanced alloy is characterized by an ultrafine-grained structure and increased strength. Increased strength properties are critical parameters for the latest generation aircraft engines. It is assumed that such an alloy can be used, inter alia, in the production of a new domestic aircraft engine PD-14.
