1. Scientists from the Institute of Organometallic Chemistry. G.A. Razuvaev RAN, Volga Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Nizhny Novgorod State University. N.I. Lobachevsky included in the Nizhny Novgorod REC created as part of the national project “Science”, and exploring the use of biocompatible polymers in medicine. The Nizhny Novgorod REC project relates to developments in the field of personalized medicine, the market which will grow with aggregate annual growth(CAGR) of 11.8% by 2022.



2. The RF State Prize in the field of science and technology is the highest recognition of the merits of scientists to society and the state. Russian State Prizes in Science and Technology for 2019 were awarded for their contribution to the development of the global carbon nanotube industry, the creation of drugs for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases, and the study of the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Arctic. Vladimir Putin will award prizes on June 24.



3. Scientists from Russia and England have developed a new method for recovering quantum states, in which a quantum system can be located, using machine learning. In 2018, an international group of scientists theoretically proposed such a method for quantum systems with discrete variables, and a team of scientists from Russia and England expanded the method to the field of continuous variables and demonstrated its work experimentally. As a machine learning method, limited Boltzmann machines were used. It is so called one of the models of neural networks.



4. Today, scientists around the world are working to transmit data in the terahertz range. However, encoding information at such a wavelength is much more difficult than in the gigahertz range used in 5G technology. A group of scientists from ITMO University was able to demonstrate a way to modify the terahertz pulse, which will allow information to be transmitted with its help. They took a waveguide similar to those used in the microwave range, created in sizes suitable for the terahertz range, shot it with broadband radiation so that it propagated in different configurations, and due to this, the pulse stretched strongly in time, with two to about seven pico seconds,



5. “SKIF” based on the source of synchrotron radiation(SI) of the “4+” generation and an energy of 3 GeV is being created as part of the national project “Science” on the territory of the science city of Koltsovo(Novosibirsk Region). A preliminary staffing table has been formed, that is, the composition and approximate number of employees that will be required during the operation of the Center. According to preliminary estimates, more than 400 employees, primarily physicists and specialists in engineering and technology, are needed - they will be trained at the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU NETI) and Novosibirsk State University (NSU).
