1. Researchers from Russia obtained and studied the most stable secondary uranium minerals found in nature. This should allow to develop chemical barriers that prevent the underground migration of uranium from the sources of its minerals. An article on the subject is published in “Inorganic Chemistry”.

2. A group of scientists from the Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery has developed a material that can effectively replenish bone tissue in the area of extensive defects. This work was supported by the Russian Science Foundation. Previously, doctors had to use bone tissue taken directly from the patient’s rib, tibia and ilium to solve such problems.

3. A session titled “Exchange of Support Programs” will take place during the Global Technology Leadership Forum. Representatives of development institutes will talk about affordable support programs for technology entrepreneurs, startup teams will be able to present their projects at a pitch session and to get an individual mentor consultation. The Forum will be held during the period 5-7 December in Sochi.

4. The cybercrime market in Russia has shrunk by a record 85% according to the global report on Hi-Tech Crime Trends 2019-2020 from Group-IB, an international company specialized in preventing cyber-attacks. According to the company, the high-tech crime market in the financial sector of Russia fell to 510 million rubles for the period H2 2018 - H1 2019 against 3.2 billion rubles in the previous period.

5. The 3rd international conference «Emerging Technologies: Societal Challenges and Global Governance» (EMERTECH 2019) will take place on December 5, 2019 in Moscow. The conference is organized by Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support from the Delegation of the European Union to Russia and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. Over 30 leading experts and officials from Russia and other countries and international organizations are expected to take part in the event as speakers.
