1. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation extended the public discussion of the draft new law on science until October 7, 2019. The public discussion takes place on the online platform called “Preobrazovanie”. According to the Ministry’s press service around 200 scientific and educational organizations as well as organizations of the real sector of economy participate in the discussion. So far the document received more that 500 comments and 770 ratings.

2.  The 78th expedition of the research vessel “Akademik Mstislav Keldysh” headed for the Arctic from Arkhangelsk to continue comprehensive oceanographic research in order to identify performance features of geological systems (lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere) of the Russian Arctic seas. There are 65 scientists from various research institutes on board. Researchers from China participate in the expedition for the first time. The main purpose of the expedition is to study flows and transformation of matter in the Arctic ecosystem.

3.  A festival on ideas and technologies called “Rukami” to be held in Novosibirsk during 20-21 September, 2019. It aims to draw young people’s attention to innovation and technical creativity. The festival is expected to gather over 4 thousand participants.
