4. A cooling helmet for use in the first hours after a stroke or traumatic brain injury has appeared in Russia. It will help to reduce the mortality of patients almost in two times. The device was created by Skolkovo residents as part of the Cryotechnomid project, aimed at developing and introducing innovative therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) apparatus into medical practice.

5. By 2020, Russian scientists intend to create an experimental model of a device that allows remotely determining the thickness of ice in the Arctic seas. This will reduce the cost of the passage of the Northern Sea Route (SMP) vessels, which are currently forced to use the services of icebreakers, Alexander Rodin, head of the laboratory of applied infrared spectroscopy at MIPT, summed up an expert international seminar “Scenarios for the development of the Arctic regions of Russia”.

6. The scientific expeditionary vessel "Akademic Fedorov" have left St. Petersburg and set off to the shores of Antarctica. The participants of the 64th Russian Antarctic Expedition (RAE), organized by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AANII) of Roshydromet, have been traveling to the southern continent.
